Death came one day and asked: “Are you ready?”
Sitting up in her chair, looking at the tapestry of her life; it was all there:
The pink of her first love, fading into the black of betrayal, pain and loss and sorrow. The red hues of happiness, love and carefree days. The blue that came from not knowing what to do mixing with the green fields of hope and true understanding.
All the trees she saw held memories in their roots. The brown path that led to friendships so strong they could withstand the test of time.
Tiny figures of people she once met and forgot about. Bigger figures of people that had either left a gift or scar. And the smiling faces of those that she could not forget. Did not want to forget.
The brightest colour of them all was orange, a mix of all the happiness that was her life.
Would she have been happier on a different path? Maybe. Would it have held a brighter future? Maybe. Would she change it if she could start anew?
“I am ready!”, she said.
